ROKETSAN, Turkey’s domestic defense manufacturer, has successfully completed test launches of its new-generation ÇAKIR cruise missile, developed entirely with indigenous technology.
The ÇAKIR cruise missile was fired from ground-based platforms in a two-launch test campaign conducted on separate days, striking both a land target and a maritime target with precision using its new-generation Imaging Infrared (IIR) seeker. During the same tests, ÇAKIR also successfully validated its extended range, achieved through a new propulsion system.

Having previously been launched from unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms, ÇAKIR was fired this time from ground vehicles, demonstrating its effectiveness against both maritime and land targets. The test once again confirmed the missile’s ability to be integrated across different launch platforms.
Featuring low observability and high strike precision, the next-generation ÇAKIR cruise missile can engage a range of target types in all weather conditions, aided by its advanced navigation systems. In addition to its resistance to countermeasures, ÇAKIR possesses a re-attack capability and, through its datalink connection, supports in-flight target updates and mission abort functions.
