Kallman Lands NASA Astronaut Al Worden, Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot, At “Aérogare USA”

Public visitors to the Paris Air Show this year will have a rare opportunity to meet face-to-face with one of only 24 men who have flown to the Moon and back, when NASA Astronaut Al Worden joins the crew of “Aérogare USA”, the public weekend presentation of the U.S. International Pavilion next week at Le Bourget.

During the Trade Week of the Paris Air Show, June 15-19, the U.S. International Pavilion will be home to 230-plus American exhibitors competing to grow their share of competitive global commercial, military and space markets. However, during the following “Public Weekend”, in a gesture of goodwill and friendship to the French people, American organizer Kallman Worldwide will transform the Pavilion into Aérogare USA, a celebration of U.S. innovation in aviation, and the cultural connection between American and French citizens who share a love of flight.

This year, Astronaut Worden will be the featured Aérogare USA guest presenter during the mornings of June 20 and 21 in Hall 3 at the celebrated air show. His presentation will recall his flight to the Moon, July 26 to August 7, 1971, as the Command Module Pilot of Apollo 15. During that flight, Worden was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the “most isolated human being” for being 2,235 miles away from any other people.

In addition to talking with air show visitors about his life as an astronaut, Worden will take pictures with Aérogare USA visitors and autograph copies of his book, Falling to Earth (Smithsonian Books, 2011).

Aérogare USA will also feature educational displays, interactive exhibits, games, crafts, giveaways and concessions designed to engage and entertain visitors of all ages, particularly families and children.

The 2015 edition of Aérogare USA follows the success of the inaugural presentation in 2013, which hosted 4,000-plus visitors and staffed 14 activity stations over the two-day period.
