DRS Technologies exhibiting in IDEX 2015

DRS Technologies is a leading supplier of integrated products, services and support to military forces, intelligence agencies and prime contractors worldwide and is a two-time recipient of the Defense Security Service Award for Excellence in Counterintelligence as well as three James S. Cogswell Awards for Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement.

DRS will be participating in IDEX and will be highlighting the following products among other ones:

The Next FBCB2 – Mounted Family of Computing Systems (MFoCS)
MFoCS provides modular computing capabilities for military ground vehicles and weapons platforms. The family of common computer and display technology adds capability while reducing the overall size, weight, power and cost of the systems currently installed on ground combat vehicles and platforms around the world.
The system supports situational awareness, command and control and maneuver capability using next-generation computing and display hardware at three levels — basic, intermediate and advanced. It can improve the command and control, maneuverability, logistics and situational awareness of a range of platforms and weapon systems, from ground vehicles to armored vehicles to rotary wing aircraft and more.
MFoCS systems include dismountable tablet PCs, processor units, keyboards, removable solid-state storage, display units, cabling and installation kits designed for various platforms — all engineered rugged for continuous operation in a wide range of military and combat environments.
MFoCS represents the evolution of Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2) following years of combat experience. MFoCS is a common computing solution that consolidates the requirements from a range of military programs, users and standards, while reducing the size and cost and upping the computing power.
MFoCS integrates existing FBCB2 future Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P) and Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) capability into a powerful, modular and flexible hardware architecture.

Mini See Spot – Handheld Laser Designator See Spot Imager
Long-range reconnaissance, superior image quality, true imaging laser see spot and handheld portability are the underlying characteristics of the Mini See Spot (MSS) thermal imager. Used for extended-range target detection and identification, the MSS weighs less than two pounds, including its six hot-swappable batteries that extend operations without having to power down during a battery change.
The self-contained system and viewfinder allow users to see battlefield laser markers/designators directly on targets. It rapidly identifies, acquires and engages targets and has clear imagery through degraded battlefield and weather conditions. The system can also reduce the chance of fratricide and collateral damage with improved target identification and spot confirmation. The system supports both analog and digital displays.

VHF/UHF INTEGRATED INTERCEPT & DIRECTION FINDING SYSTEM
The DRS Technologies ZS-4015E Very High Frequency/Ultra High Frequency Integrated Intercept and Direction Finding System provides superior communications intelligence (COMINT) performance. Its COMINT functions include detection, interception, collection, geolocation, measurement, analysis, identification and database storage of both conventional signals and frequency-hopping signals.
The ZS-4015E system provides wideband frequency scanning while making simultaneous wideband direction finding measurements on active signals – an essential feature for dealing with a dense signal environment including multiple frequency-hopping signals. With an optional antenna array, the system can be used on fixed sites, ground-mobile, shipboard, and airborne applications.

Thermal Weapon Sights
DRS light, medium and heavy weapon sights range from two to 3.7 pounds and offer superior performance with a detection span from 550 to 2,220 meters.
The light version is best suited for close quarter combat and reconnaissance; it can be used on the M16 and M4 series rifles and carbines as well as the M136 Light Anti-Armor Weapon. The medium sight furnishes a wide 18° x 13.5° horizontal field-of-view for operations in urban terrain and a narrow field of view of 6° x 4.5° for sniping and situations requiring distant target detection and recognition. It can be used on medium weapons such as the M249 and M240 series machine guns. The heavy sight field of view is ideal for detection and identification of distant targets. The sight is used on heavy weapons such as squad leaders’ M16 and M4 series rifles and carbines, M24 and M107 sniper rifles, M2 HB and MK 19 machine guns.

Enhanced Situational Awareness System
The DRS infrared Enhanced Situational Awareness camera system improves survivability and mission capability by providing large vehicle operators with enhanced visual coverage. At the heart of the system is the Driver’s Vision Enhancer wide camera module featuring three uncooled infrared cameras. It produces a stitched 107° x 30° field of view allowing the driver to pan all 107° to see the road edges on both sides. The incorporated vehicle wheel track indicators aid the driver in clearly identifying any potential impediments to safe operation, whether driving forward or in reverse.

Blackstone Body-worn Direction Finding Signal Detector
The DRS Blackstone Body-Worn DF/TDOA (Direction Finding/Time Difference of Arrival) System provides mission-critical intelligence to the warfighter by monitoring signals of interest, rapidly detecting and locating a wide range of threat signals and supporting real-time analysis of the signal environment. The system’s light weight, low power consumption, field programmability and multiple deployment configurations make it well suited for a wide range of operational scenarios.
