DIMDEX 2024

The eighth edition of the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference “DIMDEX 2024” kicked off today, Monday. The exhibition, which is organized by the Qatar Armed Forces, was inaugurated under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar and will run for three days under the slogan “Lighting the Way for a Future Beyond Maritime Security”.

DIMDEX will provide companies operating in various fields such as radars, missiles, naval mines and electronic warfare systems, as well as shipbuilding and naval systems, with the opportunity to showcase their products and conclude new agreements.

Nine warships from eight countries arrived at Hamad International Port yesterday to participate in the exhibition. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit these ships, see their departments and meet their crews. The organizers expect the exhibition to attract around 20,000 visitors over the three days, including defense and maritime security professionals and enthusiasts, to see the latest equipment, technology and defense technologies.

DIMDEX has contributed to the signing of agreements and deals worth billions of dollars since its first edition in 2008.

DIMDEX was originally scheduled to be held in 2020, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this did not prevent the exhibition from continuing its successful path, as the seventh edition of DIMDEX was held in 2022 with the participation of more than 200 companies from 20 different countries.
