The Tunisian Air Force has finalized a landmark agreement with Bell Textron at the Paris Air Show, purchasing 12 SUBARU Bell 412EPX helicopters. This significant defense contract marks the first order for this advanced Bell 412 variant in Africa. These multi-role helicopters are slated for deployment in various military and security missions by the Tunisian Air Force.

This acquisition will significantly expand the Tunisian Air Force’s rotary-wing fleet, which currently comprises 39 Bell aircraft, including Bell UH-1s, 205s, and OH-58s.
The sale to Tunisia continues a trend of recent Bell 412 entries into service with various international organizations, including the Japan Coast Guard, San Diego Fire and Rescue, the Croatia Ministry of Interior, and the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior. “The Bell 412 is globally recognized for its adaptability and reliability, enabling operators to undertake a broad range of missions,” a Bell Textron spokesperson commented.
The SUBARU Bell 412EPX offers impressive specifications, including a maximum internal weight of 12,200 lbs, an external weight of 13,000 lbs, and a cargo hook capacity of 5,000 lbs. With a useful load of 5,385 lbs, the platform is well-suited for a wide array of critical missions.
