BAE Systems will present advanced technologies that offer defence and security solutions across multiple domains at the upcoming IDEX 2023. The event, held from 20-24 February at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), will also focus on BAE Systems’ existing partnerships throughout the Middle East.
During the show, BAE Systems is introducing its Digital Thread immersive zone, an engaging high-tech experience, in both English and Arabic. It will take visitors on a 3D journey, visualising BAE Systems’ entire intelligence ecosystem, from gathering data from its platforms, to operating in environments from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of outer space and delivering actionable intelligence to the armed forces.
Jonathan Bird, UAE Country Director, BAE Systems, said: “At IDEX 2023, BAE Systems will exhibit cutting-edge technologies that address defense and security needs across various domains.
“We’re also delighted to present our Digital Thread immersive zone for the first time in the region. It visualises the unique capabilities and interoperability of our solutions with others.”
On display will be a range of capabilities across the maritime, land and air domains, including the adaptable Amphibious Combat Vehicle that’s capable of deploying Marines from ship to shore, our unique and low cost APKWS® laser-guidance kit that adds precision to targeting and
defeating enemy targets, Herne™, our innovative and highly configurable Extra Large Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (XLAUV) that offers new military capability that enables navies to cover more of the underwater battlespace than ever before, as well as interactive showcases of our space, cyber, electronic warfare, naval and air training capabilities.
BAE Systems’ presence at the show will also highlight its specialist space technologies, with Elizabeth Seward, Head of Strategy – Space, participating in an IDEX panel discussion entitled ‘Space technologies: Strategic capabilities to economic opportunities.’
