ST Engineering’s Marine business has secured a six-year sub-contract valued at approximately S$600 million from Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB). The agreement tasks ST Engineering with the design and supply of platform systems for a fleet of eight Missile Gun Boats currently being constructed for the Kuwait Naval Force.
In addition to providing a full suite of platform design, integration, and technical expertise, ST Engineering will build three of the vessels at its Singapore shipyard. This contract follows a 2021 award from ADSB for four similar Offshore Patrol Vessels for the UAE Navy, further highlighting the Group’s deep naval engineering capabilities and its proven track record in delivering complex naval platforms.
Leadership Perspectives
“This win strengthens ST Engineering’s growing momentum in international defence markets, underscoring the Group’s ability to deliver sophisticated naval platforms and capture rising demand for advanced maritime security solutions in the Middle East.” — Tan Leong Peng, President of Marine, ST Engineering
Tan Leong Peng added that the company is “honoured” by the Kuwait Naval Force’s selection of the Fearless-class design, noting that its adoption in Oman, the UAE, and now Kuwait reflects strong regional confidence in the platform’s operational performance and adaptability.
