A leading Austrian aerospace company, SCHIEBEL, showcased the S-100 Camcopter at the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2024), in Doha, Qatar. The CAMCOPTER S-100 Unmanned Air System (UAS) from Schiebel has demonstrated its effectiveness in both military and civilian scenarios.
It functions seamlessly day and night, even in challenging weather conditions, covering distances of up to 200 km over both land and sea. The S-100 can autonomously navigate using pre-programmed GPS waypoints or be manually operated through a pilot control unit.
Utilizing “fly-by-wire” technology managed by redundant flight computers, the UAV can autonomously carry out its mission even in highly intricate electromagnetic environments. Its fuselage, crafted from carbon fiber and titanium, offers versatility for various payload and endurance configurations.
The S-100 serves as a substantial force multiplier for maritime commanders, enhancing the ship’s reach beyond the horizon. It significantly enhances the situational understanding and operational responsiveness of decision-makers.
The S-100 has demonstrated its effective maritime surveillance capabilities across 17 diverse classes of vessels in oceans worldwide. With thousands of flight hours and numerous takeoffs and landings, it attests to meeting the long-term objectives of numerous navies.
