AirBerlin Group has introduced new industry-leading technology services powered by Sabre that help personalize and improve the travel experience for travelers through easy purchase of customized air fare packages. Germany’s second largest carrier has launched Sabre’s Branded Fares, allowing the airlines to market and sell their tailor-made product brands through Sabre’s leading travel marketplace. This follows last year’s launch of airberlin’s ancillary services, including prepaid seats, meals, unaccompanied minors and prepaid baggage in the Sabre GDS.
Sabre Branded Fares allows airlines to address growing consumer demand for more personalized services that meet individual needs. Using the solution, Sabre-connected travel agencies can now offer travelers the choice of airberlin group carriers’ brands which come with a fare and range of services that cater to different traveler needs. From spontaneous travelers seeking a short-break to corporate travelers needing flexibility and exclusive benefits, there’s a package to suit all.
“airberlin has a clear “customer-first” growth strategy, and we have been working with them to identify new and exciting ways to make the traveler experience a seamless and more personalized one across all their sales channels,” said Harald Eisenaecher, senior vice president, Sabre Travel Network, Europe, Middle East and Africa. “SabreBranded Faresis one of several ways we are supporting airberlin’s drive for competitive advantage, growth and a truly personalized experience for customers. As the airline industry evolves, we will continue to invest and create new capabilities and features that support merchandising and personalization capabilities.”
In addition to enhancing the traveler experience, it also makes it easier for travel agents to sell branded fares, driving upsell opportunities based on brand attributes with enhanced visibility to specific brand offerings.
“Sabre is a major technology partner for us and they are supporting with their product suite airberlin’s strategy towards a more individualized travel experience in a worldwide network,” said Armin Bovensiepen, senior vice president, commercial strategy and distribution, airberlin group. “We are very pleased to bring airberlin’s branded fares to Sabre-connected travel agents and their customers. These are now available in a consistent way across all channels enabling aneasy sales and agency process as well as a modern customer experience.”
Travel agents using the Sabre system will be able to offer clients more informed choices and a higher level of customer service as they easily shop, compare and book airline brands with specific services that best meets their travelers’ needs.
airberlin group joins a growing list of carriers who merchandise and sell their branded fares and ancillary products and services, such as pre-paid bags and seats to their travelers through Sabre connected agencies.
Sabre’s travel marketplace plays an important role in facilitating the marketing and sale of airfares, hotel rooms, rental cars, rail tickets and other types of travel, to more than 435,000 travel agents and thousands of corporations who use it to shop, book and manage travel.
