Defence and security company Saab has signed a contract with Airbus to become a supplier of composite work on the A330neo programme. This contract is Saab’s first work package on the A330neo and gives Saab a key role on this fast-growing, successful Airbus widebody aircraft programme.
The new agreement covers the manufacture of the A330neo wing trailing edge falsework extension which is situated on the outer part of the wing with interfaces to the Sharklets and the wing box.
Saab is responsible for the design and manufacture of production tools together with the manufacture and assembly of all items required for the work package. A330neo is a further development of the Airbus A330 aircraft platform and will be introduced to the market in.

Moreover, it further confirms our expertise and competitiveness in the commercial aviation market,” says Lars Jensen, head of business unit Aerostructures within Saab business area Industrial Products and Services.
Saab’s business unit Aerostructures works on the development and production of complex airframe assemblies for the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus and Boeing. In addition to the A330neo trailing edge falsework extension, Saab provides Airbus with flap support structures and fairings for the A350-1000, the mid and outer wing leading-edge for the Airbus A380 plus ailerons and doors for other Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
