Russian Helicopters is taking part in Paris Air Show Le Bourget, which is being held in the French capital from 15 to 21 June, and will showcase its commercial helicopters for the global aviation community. Russian Helicopters’ exhibition can be found at stand C-198, Hall 2a.

Russian Helicopters will highlight its Mi-26T2 and Ka-32A11BC multirole helicopters as well as the Mi-171A2 VIP model at Le Bourget. The heavy Mi-26T2 (an upgraded version of the world’s heaviest lifting Mi-26T helicopter) boasts unrivalled capabilities. It is equipped with the latest avionics, enabling the number of crew to be cut from 5 to 2-3 people, and meaning it can be operated at night time. The new helicopter does not need special airfield-based maintenance, and can be based autonomously long-term. The Mi-26T2 meets the latest international aviation construction standards, and series production was launched at Russian Helicopters’ Rostvertol plant in 2015.

Participants and visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to learn more about the new medium Mi-171A2, which Russian Helicopters will unveil in its VIP variant at Le Bourget. This new model is performing successfully in the final phase of tests. It is equipped with an integrated digital avionics suite, and a ‘glass cabin’ design making it possible to cut the required crew to two people. The Mi-171A2 also boasts a modernised fuselage, engine and rotor system.

Another model that occupies a leading position in its class is the Ka-32A11BC, designed for special search-and-rescue, construction or assembly work, transporting cargo on an external sling, logging, evacuating the sick and injured, complex fire-fighting operations, in addition to patrols and providing support for special operations. The Ka-32A11BC is operated worldwide, and has proved to be an outstanding fire-fighting helicopter.

Russian Helicopters is sponsoring the Russian Hour event, which is taking place as part of this European airshow for the first time. Russian Hour has hitherto only been held at Heli-Expo in the United States. During the event, Russian Helicopters specialists and Russian helicopter operators will share their experience and recommendations about operating these helicopters. In addition, visitors to the event will have the opportunity to learn more about the company’s upcoming developments.

The Paris airshow Le Bourget is one of the largest airshows in the world, and takes place at the Le Bourget exhibition centre 12 km from Paris.
