Royal Saudi Naval Forces and Royal Jordanian Navy Launch “Safe Beach-5” Drill

Safe Beach-five, the joint maritime drill jointly implemented by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and the Royal Jordanian Navy started Sunday in Dammam (Easter Province of Saudi Arabia), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The off-shore drill includes implementation of a number of real-life scenarios to address the region’s challenges and aims to carry out plans prepared to develop the operational combat readiness of the participating forces, according to a joint statement.

This sea-based exercise comes as a continuation of the series of joint drills held annually aimed to strengthen joint Jordanian-Saudi military cooperation relations, the statement added.

In addition, the drill seeks to exchange expertise and acquire skills related to drill planning and practical implementation, which contributes to bolstering military capabilities and enhancing military coordination, the statement noted.

Commander of the joint forces participating in the drill Major General Ali bin Saeed Al-Shehri said that the five-day event includes several joint military operations with the aim of increasing the level of preparedness and combat capabilities of participating units, enhancing military cooperation between the two brotherly countries and exchanging expertise in combat build-ups.

Meanwhile, Drill Commander Colonel Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Bliwi stressed that the drill includes a series of joint military trainings as part of a unified strategy to enhance military cooperation between the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Jordan Armed Forces, noting that the drill includes applying all theoretical and practical trainings that constitute exchange of expertise and unifying joint military concepts.
