Naval Group and RH Marine signed on September 25 th a contract supporting the construction of the new Orka-class submarines for the Royal Netherlands Navy, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of the Replacement of the Netherlands Submarine Capability (RNSC) program.
With this contract, RH Marine will contribute its expertise in platform automation, power distribution and integrated system solution to the RNSC program. Thanks to decades of cooperation experience with the Royal Netherlands Navy, RH Marine will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence and long-term support for the four new Orka-class conventionallypropelled submarines.
This partnership strengthens the foundation for long-term Dutch autonomy in submarine maintenance and future upgrades, while fostering deeper cooperation and knowledge-sharing between Dutch and French naval industries. A growing network of Dutch companies are contributing to the RNSC program in areas such as hydraulics, energy management, acoustic cladding, composite structures, detection systems and filtration. Working together in this way, allows Naval Group to manufacture state-of-the-art submarines to meet the needs of the Royal Netherlands Navy and is in line with the 2024 Industrial Cooperation Agreement (ICA) signed in September 2024 with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.
