Turkish state defense manufacturer MKE arrives at EFES 2026 with a portfolio that signals Ankara’s deepening ambitions across air defense, artillery, mine clearance, and unmanned maritime warfare.
TOLGA Short-Range Air Defense System — Now with Laser and Missile Capabilities
MKE’s TOLGA system remains the centerpiece of the company’s exhibition presence. Built around an “effective-simple-affordable” philosophy, TOLGA integrates 12.7 mm, 20 mm, and 35 mm weapon systems alongside dedicated anti-drone ammunition, the GÖKBÖRÜ radar, electro-optical sensors, and a soft-kill jammer into a single modular platform. The system operates in manual, semi-autonomous, and fully autonomous modes and can be deployed across fixed installations, armored and unarmored vehicles, and naval platforms.
Three new capabilities are being unveiled at SAHA 2026:
Acoustic Detection System — Detects and tracks aerial threats through radio frequency-based sensing, relaying speed, direction, and estimated altitude data directly to the command-and-control center.
Laser Weapon System — Offers layered directed-energy engagement: camera blinding at 4,500–2,500 m, permanent sensor destruction at 2,500–1,500 m, and structural neutralization at ranges down to 100 m — all with 360-degree mobility.
ENFAL-17 Optically Guided Missile — Designed specifically to intercept Shahed-type fixed-wing drones, UAVs, cruise missiles, and helicopters at altitudes up to 30,000 feet. ENFAL-17 extends TOLGA’s lethal reach against the category of threats most relevant to today’s conflict environments.
Artillery Systems: BORAN, URAN, and ATTİLA
MKE’s artillery lineup underscores Turkey’s growing role as a competitive artillery exporter.
BORAN (105 mm Lightweight Towed Howitzer) — At 1,775 kg, one of the lightest howitzers in the world. Air-transportable by Sikorsky S-70 and Chinook platforms, BORAN can be ready to fire in under one minute — including while mounted on its wheels. Already exported to North Macedonia and Bangladesh, it continues to draw interest from buyers across Asia and Europe.
URAN (105 mm Vehicle-Mounted Howitzer) — Mounts BORAN’s proven firepower on a 4×4 mobile platform with an MKE-developed Fire Control System. URAN delivers 12 rounds per minute with a range of up to 18 km, purpose-built for shoot-and-scoot operations.
ATTİLA (155 mm Vehicle-Mounted Howitzer) — A 52-caliber 155 mm system mounted on a 6×6 tactical wheeled vehicle. ATTİLA fires at 6 rounds per minute, carries 38 rounds plus smoke and illumination shells, reaches 85 km/h, and has an operational range of 850 km — a serious contender in the competitive 155 mm export market.
ALPAY-2 Minefield Breaching System
The fully electric, remotely operated ALPAY-2 clears a 10-meter-wide, 100-meter-long corridor of anti-tank and anti-personnel mines buried up to one meter deep. Operating from distances up to 3 km in unmanned mode, the 18-ton system achieves a 750 km operational range with generator support — a critical asset for combined arms operations in mine-dense environments.
PİRANA KIDA — Kamikaze Unmanned Surface Vessel
Perhaps the most striking addition to MKE’s SAHA 2026 lineup is PİRANA KIDA, a kamikaze unmanned surface vessel capable of individual or swarm attack formations. Controlled via RF and SATCOM communication systems, PİRANA operates remotely or autonomously — with satellite control eliminating geographic range limitations entirely. Its development reflects growing Turkish investment in asymmetric naval warfare concepts.
