Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation, announced on the 18th of August that Mr. Michael Anderson has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of its Systems Engineering Group (SEG). SEG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Telephonics and in his role, Mr. Anderson will be responsible for leading, directing and meeting both SEG and Telephonics’ corporate strategic business goals.
Mr. Anderson will report directly to Mr. Kevin McSweeney, Telephonics’ Chief Operating Officer (COO), and will lead the organization’s support of Department of Defense (DoD) missile defense programs. He will also direct SEG’s broad spectrum of systems engineering capabilities, including missile systems engineering, radar systems engineering and software development.
Mr. Anderson joined Telephonics in July 2015 after a successful U.S. Navy career in which he led the development of key Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) programs and commanded sailors at sea and ashore. Mr. Anderson received his commission from the United States Naval Academy in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1993, he earned Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Management from the Naval Postgraduate School.
“Mike’s breadth of engineering knowledge, deep missile defense experience and esteemed military career coupled with his proven ability to deliver meaningful results makes him ideally suited for the role of Vice President and General Manager of SEG,” said Mr. Kevin McSweeney, COO, Telephonics. “I am confident he will successfully drive our missile defense technology innovation and business well into the future.”
