L3Harris Books $947M Services Contract for Air Force Electronic Warfare Countermeasures Program

L3Harris Technologies  has received a 10-year, $947.3 million sole source contract from the U.S. Air Force for engineering services in support of an aircraft electronic warfare system initiative.

The contractor will provide block and non-block cycle services for the AN/ALQ-172 Countermeasures Program and Air Force Global Strike Command’s enhancement efforts, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

ALQ-172 is a self-protection integrated radio frequency subsystem designed to defend the B-52 and C-130 aircraft from radar-directed threats.

L3Harris will perform contract work at its Clifton, New Jersey location through Aug. 30, 2031. The company is being obligated $9.8 million in Air Force fiscal 2021 operation and maintenance funds at the time of award.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Electronic Warfare Contracting Branch located at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia awarded the contract.
