In the realm of multi-mission aerial refueling, the Boeing KC-46A Pegasus is the most advanced aircraft in operation today, providing unmatched capability, interoperability and mission readiness for air forces. “The KC-46A epitomizes rapid mobility for modern aerial operations. It’s more than a refueler,” said Sean Martin, Boeing KC-46 Senior Business Development Manager. “It is a connecting node for critical data, ensuring secure communication with defense platforms flying other mission sets. The KC-46 can also carry the same number of military pallets as a C-17 Globemaster, adding to its multi-mission capacity to meet our customers’ strategic airlift needs.”
Additionally, the Pegasus has the ability to receive fuel, unlike many existing and legacy strategic tankers, which significantly extends the range and flexibility, global mobility and power projection of our partners.
Its intrinsic design enables it to serve diverse operational requirements, and smoothly convert between cargo, passenger, and crucial aeromedical transport configurations in a matter of hours. With the capability to accommodate 30 percent more passengers, transport twice the number of aeromedical patients, and carry three times the pallets in comparison to the KC-135 tanker, the Pegasus can meet the mission sets of our diverse international partner militaries who will rely on a combat-ready KC-46A.

The KC-46A is a paradigm shift in how air forces can add capability to their missions, from battle management systems to setting new benchmarks in refueling efficiency. The Pegasus is shaping the future of air operations. Already in service with the U.S. Air Force and its allies globally, the fleet has completed more than 20,200 sorties and offloaded more than 200 million pounds (90 million liters) of fuel to date.
