Indian Navy Commissioned INS Visakhapatnam: Most powerful and advanced warship in the Indian Navy

India Navy commissions INS Visakhapatnam, lead-ship of Visakhapatnam-class destroyers, designed and manufactured by Directorate of Naval Design and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai. Commissioning ceremony was took place at Naval dockyard, Mumbai and attended by Indian Defense Minister, India Navy’s Chief and other senior military & civil officials on sunday, 21 November.

INS Visakhapatnam has a full-load displacement of 7,400 tonnes and a length of 163-metres. The P15B guided-missile destroyer can accommodate a crew of 312 persons, has an endurance of 4,000 nautical miles and can carry out a typical 42 days mission with extended mission time in out of area operation. It’s maximum speed is about 30 knots.
