8×8 armored vehicles and drones for Spanish forces

A part of the show has been focused on two major priorities of the Spanish forces: the 8×8 wheeled armored vehicles, and the unmanned aircraft.

About 8×8 vehicles, General Manfredo Monforte, Chief of Engineeringfor Logistics Support Command of the Army, said that the new vehicle should be ready by 2018, which would imply that the Government is going to take decisions this year. In this sense there are two companies that have submitted their proposals: General Dynamics-Santa Barbara, and the consortium OtoMelara-IVECO. It is planned to purchase 300 units that will serve for over 30 years.

With regard to the drones, the goal is to provide a long rangedrone to the Spanish Air Force. Although officially there is nothing known, it seems that the better-off are the American Predator B and the Israeli Heron TP. In HOMSEC 2015 we saw RPAS presented by ten companies, from micro to long range drones.
