GovConExec magazine has named Raytheon executive David Wajsgras to the annual Wash100 list of the most influential leaders in the world of government contracting.

Wajsgras has been senior vice president and chief financial officer of Raytheon since 2006, directing the overall financial strategy for the company. Raytheon (NYSE:RTN) had 2014 sales of $23 billion and 61,000 employees worldwide.

On March 2, Wajsgras will become the president of Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS), the company’s global cyber and security services business. IIS, headquartered in Dulles, Virginia, provides a full range of technologies and professional services to intelligence, defense, federal and commercial customers worldwide.

The Wash100 list recognizes leaders from both the public and private sectors who "drive the conversation" when it comes to vision, innovation and achievement in the sector, known as GovCon. This is the second year that the list was compiled by GovConExec parent company Executive Mosaic.

"This list represents individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership through another memorably eventful year in the GovCon industry," said Jim Garrettson, president and founder of Executive Mosaic. "We would like to congratulate this year’s recipients as the leaders and voices that will shape GovCon."

In his new role at IIS, Wajsgras will oversee key programs in global intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR); navigation, space and weather solutions; cybersecurity; analytics; training; logistics; mission support; and engineering and sustainment solutions.

Key customers of IIS include the U.S. intelligence community, the U.S. armed forces, the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and an increasing number of international customers.

Prior to joining Raytheon, Wajsgras served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Lear Corporation, which he had joined in 1999. Earlier, Wajsgras was corporate controller for Engelhard Corporation. Before that, he held numerous management positions with Honeywell International Inc.

Wajsgras is a member of the Kogod Advisory Council for the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington, D.C. He serves on the Lahey Clinic Foundation Board of Trustees in Burlington, Massachusetts.

He is also the executive champion of Raytheon’s Persons with DisAbilities (RPDA) Employee Resource Group, an organization that works as a strategic partner across the company to facilitate a fully accessible and supportive workplace for employees with disabilities.

Wajsgras earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland in College Park, and has a master’s degree in business administration from American University.
