Caracal Debuts its Latest Products at IDEX 2015

Caracal International, the Gulf region’s leading manufacturer of pistols and rifles for the civilian, military, law enforcement and sporting markets has unveiled a range of its latest products at the 2015 International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX).

Caracal, based in the UAE and part of the Emirates Defence Industries Company (EDIC) has selected the prestigious defense conference to showcase an updated range of its ‘F’ and ‘C’ model pistols, the CAR816 and CAR814 tactical rifles, its latest tactical sniper rifle – the CS338, as well as the CC10 semi-auto carbine.

Caracal also unveiled its new Caracal 1911 handgun – one of the most mature and in-demand designs currently in the U.S. market – at the show.

Hamad Salim Al Ameri, CEO of Caracal International said: “IDEX 2015 is a chance for us to promote UAE craftsmanship to an international customer base. Meeting our customers and shooting enthusiasts face-to-face gives us an opportunity to understand their requirements, and also get their valuable feedback on our products.”

Al Ameri continued: “IDEX 2015 is the perfect opportunity for us to debut products that have never before been introduced to some of our regional customers, partners and suppliers. For example, the new Caracal 1911 attracted a lot of interest in the U.S. based on the pistol’s design and finish so it will be interesting to gauge the demand during IDEX as we interact with a more international audience.”

The Caracal 1911 is inspired by more than 100 years of history and is based on John Moses Browning’s quintessential 1911 platform. There are two versions of the new series: the Caracal 1911, which comes with a 5” barrel length, and the Caracal 1911C, the compact version which has a barrel length of 4.25”. Each version has a range of unique design characteristics and colours, many of which are on display at IDEX from 22-26 February.

The Caracal ‘F’ and ‘C’ series are available in the full size 18-round capacity and a compact 15-round capacity respectively. The pistols are built on a synthetic frame and boast unique features such as a short 8mm trigger pull, extremely low profile slide and bore axis, the combined effect of which is a greatly reduced “felt” recoil.
The CAR 816 is a center-fire, gas piston operated, and rotating bolt while the CAR 814 operates via Direct Gas impingement. The Caracal assault rifles are tactical weapons designed for use in law enforcement and military operations. The weapons are available in semi-automatic and select fire configurations and different barrels lengths, and designed in accordance to the NATO standards to operate in extreme temperatures and functions in adverse environmental conditions.
The CS338 Tactical Sniper Rifle is a heavy barrel, manually operated bolt action in .338LM caliber. Manufactured from aerospace grade aluminium, the effective range of the CS338 is 1000+ meters.
The CC-10 is a modern semi-auto 9 x 19mm carbine aimed at the sporting and civilian market. It includes most modern technologies to provide the highest reliability, precision and safety. The Caracal CC-10, adding another level of performance and modularity to Caracal’s weapon family, will be available to customers in two variants: the CC-10 SB (short barrel version) and the CC-10 LB (long barrel version).
All the products – which have been designed and manufactured in the UAE – incorporate the most modern technologies to provide the highest reliability, precision and safety and all of the models on show at this year’s IDEX are manufactured and tested at the Caracal factory, located in the Tawazun Industrial Park in Abu Dhabi.
