Airbus Group to Display the Latest in Helicopters, Defence and Space Technology at IDEX 2015

Airbus Group will display a wide portfolio of products and solutions from Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defence and Space including its capabilities in security radars, situational awareness and security intelligence applications. Models of the A400M, the world’s most modern military transport aircraft, and electro-optical satellites will also be on display.

This year Airbus Group’s participation at IDEX also marks an important milestone for the company’s operations in the Middle East as it embarks on a new organisational structure led by Habib Fekih who recently expanded his portfolio to take on the role of President for Airbus Group Africa and Middle East.

As one of the largest defence and security exhibition, IDEX offers an ideal platform to showcase the Group’s capabilities but more importantly to connect and engage with international delegates and key decision-makers from the region including government heads, military and armed forces representatives.

Over the years we have initiated a number of strategic partnerships in the region that have contributed to the development of the industry by providing the best of our expertise, services and products,” said Habib Fekih, President, Africa and Middle East, Airbus Group.

“In the UAE, our primary goal is to support the Government’s 2030 vision to diversify its economic resources and reduce dependence on oil by 2030. The development of the defence industry is part of that wider vision. In order to support this vision we have streamlined our operations by bringing all our divisions under one roof to exploit synergies and strengthen our services.”

The Airbus Group has a long standing partnerships and a strong presence In the Middle East with representative offices in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, and Egypt. The Group unites the three activities of commercial aircrafts, defense and space as well as helicopters.
