Airbus Defence and Space Presents Unmanned Aerial Systems and Satellite Systems at Homsec

Airbus Defence and Space will show its broad portfolio from Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and aircraft through Satellite Systems and Services to Secure Land Communications at Homsec at the 5th International Exhibition of Security and Defence Technologies Homsec, that take place between the 10th and the 12th of March in Madrid.

In the field of UAS, the company will show a mockup of the Atlante, a medium altitude long endurance (MALE) designed by Airbus Defence and Space in Spain, following the CHLTR (Customer High Level Technical Requirements) from the Spanish MoD.

A mock-up of a C295 medium transport will demonstrate the capabilities of this aircraft that is in operation in 19 countries all around the world. The Spanish Forces are flying a fleet of 13 C295.

Another focus will be the company’s capabilities as the worldwide leader in Earth Observation and Telecommunications satellite systems and services. At the show, there will be mock-ups of the Paz and Ingenio satellites, built by Airbus Defence and Space on behalf of the Spanish Government. Paz satellite will be launched this year and Ingenio in 2017. There will be also a mock-up of the Skynet 5, the UK military satellite telecommunications programme. Space Systems built the constellation of 4 satellites, and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the communication services as part of a public-private partnership. These are illustrations that Airbus Defence and Space is the key industrial partner of its four home nations (Spain, France, Germany and the UK) for the space components of their Defence forces in Earth Observation and/or Secured Telecommunications.

Various solutions for Secure Land Communication will be presented as well. Airbus Defence and Space is the European leader in professional mobile radio (PMR) and the number two worldwide, with more than 280 radio networks in over 74 countries. Airbus Defence and Space is the only company to boast highly secure digital radio communications systems and terminals based on all three leading digital radio standards: Tetra, Tetrapol and P25. All customers – be they in the public safety or commercial sector and regardless of whether they require small regional networks or extensive nationwide systems – will find turnkey PMR solutions at Airbus Defence and Space that meet the very highest standards.
