AgustaWestland Skyflight Mission Planning System ‘Goes App’

Finmeccanica – AgustaWestland announced the launch of a dedicated ‘App’ for its Skyflightmission planning system. Customers are now able to download the Skyflight app from the Apple App Store and install onto their iPad, enabling access to the Skyflight web service.

The proven Skyflight multi-helicopter flight and mission planning system has been designed by AgustaWestland to help helicopter crews plan, execute and analyse their operational missions in a wide range of operational scenarios. This dedicated app is the latest enhancement and has been achieved as part of the AgustaWestland Service Excellence initiative, by which the company aims to provide customers sustainable performance improvements to their day to day operations as well as the delivery of top class advanced services.

Skyflight App Users will benefit from a mission planning system at their fingertips, making their flight experience easier and safer,generating route plans, improvingcrew situational awareness and determining fuel requirements,as well as performing ‘What-if analysis’. Users can save, share and re-use planning data, manage accurate weight and balance calculations, design, amend and assess routes in just a few clicks, rapidly upload flight data onto the aircraft’s systems and much more.

The Skyflight App allows operators to get relevant aviation information everywhere through their internet enabled devices, in addition to a real-time stream of weather and environmental data, which can be used in conjunction with the AgustaWestland aircraft performance data.

The Skyflight App benefits will be demonstrated at the AgustaWestland Booth at Heli-Expo 2015 (Orlando, FL March 3rd – 5th).
