The Turkish national fighter jet “KAAN” successfully conducted its second test flight on Monday, lasting 14 minutes, according to Anadolu Agency.
A statement issued by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) said that the KAAN fighter jet successfully conducted its second test flight today.
On its second flight, “KAAN” stayed in the air for 14 minutes, reached an altitude of 10,000 feet and a speed of 230 knots.
Following the second flight, Head of Defense Industries Authority İsmail Demir met with the test pilots and the project team.
Commenting on the national fighter jet’s second flight, Demir said it was “another historic moment,” expressing his pride in it.
“We have witnessed another important day in the history of Turkish aviation and Turkish defense history. Our manned warplane made its second flight today,” he said.
He noted that the second flight was carried out with great success, similar to the first flight on February 21.
“The data taken from this flight will be evaluated by the entire team and preparations for the next flights will continue,” he added.
The “KAAN” is a fifth-generation fighter jet that can perform air-to-air combat missions and carry out precision strikes from internal weapon bays at supersonic speeds.
