Streit Group, one of the world’s largest armoured vehicle manufacturers, has launched –as part of its new Secure360 strategy– a range of new armored vehicle models, advanced defence training and alliance partnerships at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), which is being held in Abu Dhabi from 22-26 February, 2015.
The Matador 8×8, Hurricane 8×8, and Shrek 6×6, as well as a new enhanced suspension Typhoon upgradeable to 8X8 were all unveiled at this year’s event. In addition, Streit Group showcased the manoeuvrability and performance of 17 advanced performance products during the live demonstration sessions.
Streit Group produces 128 different models of armoured vehicles for commercial, cash-in-transit, bespoke luxury and military use. The Group has a total manufacturing capacity of 400 armoured vehicles per month given normal workload. However, the production capacity can be increased to 500 units when required. Streit Group’s manufacturing facility in UAE houses a full-range of capabilities for design, manufacturing, training and testing within a single complex; one of the largest in the world.
Streit Group’s participation in IDEX 2015 consisted of two indoor stands; the first located at Hall 1, stand B10, and the second at Hall 9, stand A12. Both stands showcase a range of Streit armoured car models.
Commenting on the participation in IDEX, Guerman Goutorov, Chairman and CEO of Streit Group, said that IDEX is one of the most significant international conferences and exhibitions in the industry, which provides opportunities for specialized companies and factories to showcase their products and introduce customers and partners to the unique features of these products and technologies.
He added that the new Secure 360 degree strategy of the Group encompasses an end-to-end solution delivery for the group though co-operative partnership, technology innovation and enhanced services to its customers that goes beyond just an armored vehicle to deliver a full solution to the customer.
Goutorov also announced that Streit Group will launch in the coming period its new purpose-built training academy for the provision of advanced security and operational training. It is expected to be one of the largest in the region, and will be located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
He explained that the Group will expand its production capabilities and diversify the products in its RAK facility in due course, such as the New APG (Armoured Protection Glass) facility which was recently completed in the RAK complex. The new buildings will manufacture bulletproof ballistic glass and ceramic armouring for military vehicles, bulletproof vests, helmets and security checkpoints; as well as the design and production of armoured boats for border patrol missions.
He further added that the Group intends to enter into partnerships with third-parties with relation to the supply of advanced equipment for military vehicles.
Streit Group has the world’s largest privately-owned armoured vehicle facility, located at the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ), which occupies 5.4 million square feet of space. It is one of the biggest investments in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Streit Group has been operating from RAK since 2005 and has grown over the past few years to develop the world’s largest armoured vehicle facility, located at RAK.
The manufacturing facility is equipped with the latest Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) laser-cutting technology, with automated and semi-automated production lines. All procedures are ISO certified, and the facility can craft all the components required for an armoured vehicle with the input of steel sheets and raw materials.
The complex also enables the storage and distribution of 120 million auto parts in the new warehousing facility. It also comprises a multinational workforce from over 20 countries which has worked together for over 15 years to create high-quality and extremely safe armoured products.
