The United Arab Emirates Ambassador to the United Kingdom has visited BAE Systems’ hub for maritime technologies and services in Portsmouth, UK.
The Ambassador toured BAE Systems’ facilities where the company develops, manufactures and supports naval products and support solutions for UK and international customers. The Ambassador learnt about the company’s latest technology developments in autonomous underwater vehicles and radars, and experienced first-hand BAE Systems’ boat capabilities that can be configured to deploy from land, sea and air.
Jonathan Bird, BAE Systems’ UAE Country Director said: “It was our privilege to host HE Ambassador Mansoor Abulhoul and the UAE Embassy team as we focus on supporting the UAE’s industrialisation ambitions. BAE Systems has been established in the UAE for 26 years and we’re focused on exploring collaboration opportunities to strengthen the defence and security of the country, and developing Emirati talent and skills through our education outreach programmes.”
BAE Systems prides itself on working closely with local partners to support economic development by transferring knowledge, skills and technology, signing a Memorandum of Understanding with EDGE Group earlier this year to explore potential collaboration opportunities to enhance UAE technologies and capabilities.
