The Ministry of Defense (MoD) signed 28 contracts today with local and international companies specializing in military industries, during the activities of the World Defense Show held in the capital, Riyadh.
His Excellency the Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs, Dr. Khaled bin Hussein Al Biyari, signed four contracts with the chief executive officers of MBDA, Raytheon Saudi Arabia, Hanwha Aerospace, and Leonardo.
Al Biyari also witnessed the signing of eight contracts, which were signed by the Deputy Minister of Defense for Procurement and Armament, Ibrahim bin Ahmed Alsuwaiyed, with chief executive officers of local, French, Turkish, Korean, and Italian companies.
In addition, the signed agreements included sixteen contracts concluded by executive general directors at the Procurement and Armament Deputyship with representatives of the companies.
The contracts signed by MoD aim to enhance the military readiness of the Armed Forces branches, strengthen their capabilities, increase combat efficiency, and ensure the sustainability of defense systems, while also contributing to supporting and localizing domestic manufacturing. This aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which targets localizing more than 50% of military equipment and services expenditure.
