Manama Air Power Symposium to kick off in January 2016

Five senior Air Force officials have confirmed their participation as speakers in the 1st Manama Air Power Symposium (MAPS 2016) on January 20, 2016, at the Sofitel Manama Hotel, Bahrain. Three to four more commanders are expected to join the lineup of high-level officials at MAPS, which will be the official defense conference of the 4th Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) taking place from 21 to 23 January, 2016 at Sakhir Air Base, Bahrain. MAPS is organized by SEGMA, and will be held under the prestigious patronage of the Bahrain Monarch His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and is supported and hosted by the Royal Bahrain Air Force and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication.

MAPS 2016 will bring together Air Force Commanders from over two dozen countries around the world to discuss the leading most pressing issues in air power at a critical period when threat dynamics are evolving in significantly. The conference also features a carefully crafted, operationally-oriented series of briefings and discussions focusing on the employment of air power against emerging hybrid threats, drawing in particular on the most recent experiences and lessons learned in-theatre.

Gathering a select audience of 300 participants, MAPS 2016 is the most important regional air power event in 2016 and offers rare opportunities for high-impact business networking and high-level customer engagement for the global defense and aerospace community.
