For the ninth year in a row, Leonardo has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). It is an important result that confirms Leonardo’s commitment to the integration of sustainability into the business strategy and the support of the corporate processes and the capacity to innovate.
“Sustainability and innovation are at the base of our Industrial Plan”, Alessandro Profumo, CEO of Leonardo, commented. “This confirmation is an important success for all the Leonardo’s people, a recognition of what we have done in the past years and a catalyst for a continuous improvement”. Leonardo’s Chairman Giovanni De Gennaro also expressed satisfaction for this achievement “This reward reflects Leonardo’s commitment to reinforce the responsible business conduct model through ethical behaviors and processes driven by sustainability”. In 2018, Leonardo is one of 8 Aerospace & Defence companies and part of the group of 9 Italian-based companies incorporated in the DJSI. DJSI, launched in 1999, includes listed companies that meet high standards of performance in economic, social and environmental sustainability. The annual assessment that determines admission to the indices is performed through a rigorous evaluation, by the specialised Swiss asset manager RobecoSAM, on the basis of around 100 questions.
