Croatia has identified 208 domestic companies with defence production capabilities, while the Ministry of Defence has signed contracts worth more than €200 million with local businesses over the past year to equip the Croatian Armed Forces.
The figures were announced by Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ivan Anusic at the Master Business Forum in Rovinj on 9 October 2026, during a panel discussion on the role of the defence industry in economic development and security.
Anusic encouraged Croatian companies to make greater use of European Union funding opportunities to expand their capabilities, develop new technologies and strengthen their position in international defence markets.
Representatives of several companies participated in the discussion, including Orqa, Rheinmetall Unmanned Vehicles, Duro Dakovic Group and NVL. The minister also highlighted the role of the Ministry of Defence in connecting domestic companies and supporting their involvement in military modernisation programmes.
According to the ministry, cooperation between the government and industry is intended to strengthen Croatia’s domestic defence production, support economic growth and enhance national security.
