The Command View® integrated system places decision makers in a cyber-secure, common-computing environment where they can collect timely, critical information and act decisively to avert a crisis or rapidly respond to resolve an emergency.

It’s always been about the information.

In 216 B.C., a massive Roman fighting force had such poor or little information about the enemy that it fell to Hannibal’s much smaller army in the battle of Cannae. The German Luftwaffe lost the Battle of Britain largely because even with volumes of information, the German High Command didn’t know how flexible the British defenses were.

Collecting and managing battle information is even more challenging today – and achieving a common operational picture in a cyber-secure environment to make rapid decisions, execute and assess missions is key to success. Commanders must instantly understand what’s going on around them. An increasing number of nations, across six continents, depend on Raytheon for comprehensive Command and Control that integrates current customer systems while upgrading with the tools necessary in the 21st century.

“A fully integrated Command and Control system must provideall essential information for each part of our customer’s requirements at the right level and time” said Chuck Taylor, a retired U.S. Army brigadier general and business development manager for Raytheon’s C4I Systems. “The system mustcombine accurate and current situational awareness and assessment with scenario planning and wargaming to enable tactical to strategic mission accomplishment.”

Raytheon integrates and synchronizes masses of data with its Command View® Mission Solutions, a suite of systems for managing C4I – military shorthand for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence. The Command View integrated system places decision makers in a cyber-secure, common-computing environment where they can collect timely, critical information and act decisively to avert a crisis or rapidly respond to resolve an emergency.Cyber defense is an embedded capability throughout the Command View suite.

In North America alone, commanders from Hawaii to Eastern Canada are using Raytheon C4I systems to quickly arrive at the best possible reaction to fast-breaking situations.

ThalesRaytheonSystems, a sister company, developed the Battle Control Station-Fixed for the North American Aerospace Defense Command. The system allows NORAD commanders to monitor a larger portion of the continent’s airspace than ever before. It also increased the amount of data that can be shared with the Department of Defense and improved interoperability with systems in the Washington, D.C. area.

“A complete C4I system can rapidly access data from a variety of sources and process it into information that is easily understood, quickly distributed and supports all echelons from strategic to tactical,” Taylor said. “It’s an extraordinarily complex process, but our solutions make it simple for the customer to focus on what is important by user-defined outputs enabling simple and clear decisions.”

Raytheon, which has been a leader in radars, sensors, communications and navigation systems for decades, has combined proven technologies to create new, customizable ways of observing, responding to and assessing any situation.

Raytheon’s Command View Mission Solutions provide the information, communication and connectivity essential in a complex and dynamic environment.
