Boeing Showcases Products, Services and Partnership Commitments to Middle East at IDEX 2015

Boeing will showcase a diverse portfolio of products and services and highlight its partnership commitments to the Middle East at the biennial International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), the largest defence and security event in the Middle East and North African region. IDEX 2015 takes place from Sunday, Feb. 22 to Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Boeing’s exhibition booth, co-located with subsidiary Insitu, will include informational models and displays of Boeing defense, security and humanitarian products and services. A V-22 Osprey media briefing is scheduled at the trade show at the USMC Bell/Boeing MV-22 static display located at the NAVDEX exhibition area.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, IDEX provides Boeing with the opportunity to showcase the latest technology and growing partnerships from its Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business.

“While the overall global defense environment continues to be challenging, we continue to see growth relative to defense, security and humanitarian products and services,” said Paul Oliver, BDS vice president for International Business Development, Middle East & Africa. “Boeing is very pleased to showcase a wide range of products and capabilities at this year’s show,” he added.

International sales currently represent roughly 30% of Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s business and we see continued opportunities for growth, particularly in the Middle East and the Asia Pacific regions. We continue to work closely with the United Arab Emirates and other government and defense forces in the region who will be present at IDEX and play a key role in enhancing security in the region. We are committed to long-term partnerships as to being a good corporate citizen. This is fundamental to Boeing’s philosophy.

We are excited to be exhibiting many of Boeing’s advanced capabilities to meet the security requirements of our partner Middle East countries. Our C-17 Globemaster III, AH-64D Apache, AH-6i, and CH-47 Chinook helicopters, Multi-Role Fighters (F-15, F/A-18), ScanEagle/Integrator UAV’s, Maritime and ISR Aircraft, and V-22 in particular are key platforms with interest in the Gulf region.
