Serbia and Cyprus Sign Defence Cooperation Memorandum

Serbia and Cyprus have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at strengthening bilateral defence ties, including joint procurement, industrial cooperation and research and development projects.

The memorandum was signed by Serbian Acting Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović and Cyprus Defence Ministry State Secretary Stelios Kountouris during a Serbian delegation’s official visit to Cyprus on 7 October.

Talks also focused on existing defence contracts and opportunities to expand cooperation through a new generation of weapons systems being developed for the Serbian Armed Forces.

Both countries are also exploring joint development and production of unmanned and autonomous systems for air, land and maritime operations. The Serbian delegation visited Cypriot defence companies and research institutes to examine their capabilities and discuss potential industrial partnerships.
