As part of DSA 2026, one of the region’s leading defence industry exhibitions held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim paid a key visit to the MKE stand, hosted by Deputy Minister of National Defence Musa Heybet and MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş.
During the visit on the opening day of the exhibition, the Prime Minister was briefed in detail on MKE’s extensive product portfolio. Particular attention was given to the MKE BORAN 105 mm Air-Transportable Light Towed Howitzer, currently in an ongoing procurement process. A comprehensive briefing was delivered covering the system’s technical capabilities, rapid deployment, high rate of fire, and operational effectiveness across various mission scenarios.

STRONG INTEREST IN MKE BORAN DURING PROCUREMENT PROCESS
On the first day of DSA 2026, the MKE stand attracted significant attention from high-level military and official delegations. In addition to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the stand was visited by senior representatives of the Malaysian Armed Forces, including:
- Chief of Defence Forces
- Commander of Joint Forces
- Deputy Chief of The Army
- Leader of Ordnance Group
- Director General of Army Evaluation & Research Division
- Malaysian Defence Attache of Turkiye

The BORAN howitzer, which also drew strong interest from international participants and visitors, stands out with its lightweight design, ability to be ready to fire in under one minute, high mobility, and combat-proven performance. The system is actively used by the Turkish Armed Forces and has demonstrated its reliability through tests and operational deployments across different geographies.

While continuing to present its integrated firepower solutions for land, naval, and air platforms, along with its extensive ammunition portfolio, to international stakeholders at DSA 2026, MKE remains focused on strengthening existing partnerships in the region and creating new export opportunities.
