Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), the national defence and security champion, a Public Investment Fund company, has selected Amentum (NYSE: AMTM) to support in developing and enhancing SAMI Land’s maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade (MROU) capabilities for land combat systems within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“Working alongside SAMI Land’s own teams, Amentum will provide proven expertise for maintaining ground systems operated by Saudi Arabia’s armed forces,” said Andy White, senior vice president of Amentum Energy & Environment International.
“Drawing on our extensive global experience of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), including our long-standing support for Defence Equipment & Support at the UK Ministry of Defence, we will help SAMI Land establish the technical, commercial and business processes for long-term success.”

As part of the Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia aims to localize more than 50% of military spending by 2030. The collaboration is pivotal in positioning SAMI Land as the national leader for land systems MROU. By establishing comprehensive business processes and implementing best practices, SAMI Land will be better equipped to meet the growing demand from customers across Saudi Arabia.
The initiative is also expected to contribute to job creation within the defence sector and further strengthen Saudi Arabia’s industrial base, aligning with SAMI’s strategic objective of actively contributing to the localization of defence industries in the Kingdom. Amentum will support this by transferring knowledge and helping to build national expertise in the fields of manufacturing, maintenance and repair.
