General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics, announced today that it was awarded a $143 million electronic warfare contract by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD).

The single-award task order, awarded in January by the Joint Electronic Attack Compatibility Office, includes a one-year base period and four one-year option periods.

Electronic Warfare (EW) enables warfighters to disrupt or manipulate adversaries’ communication and weapon systems. With the rapid pace of technological advancements and proliferation of modern radar and missile systems, the need for advanced EW capabilities to protect high-value military platforms in future conflicts has become increasingly critical.

Under the contract, GDIT will support the engineering, logistics, intelligence analysis and demonstration of technologies such as low-cost, agile EW jammers that can be deployed on various airborne platforms, including aircraft, helicopters and drones.
