The Russian combat-tested Supercam S350 UAV will be presented as part of the joint Russian exposition at the International Defense Exhibition IDEX-2025 in Abu Dhabi (UAE), February 17 – 21, said the official representative of the Unmanned Systems Group — the designer and manufacturer of the drone. The company is participating in IDEX for the first time. Its catalog features the entire range of unmanned aerial systems under the Supercam brand: Supercam SX350 (VTOL), the compact aircraft-type UAV Supercam S150, and Supercam X4 and Supercam X4E multirotor UAVs.
The Russian UAV Supercam S350, which has proven itself in civil and defense missions, may be relevant for the Persian Gulf countries performing such tasks as border protection, law enforcement, anti-terrorist operations. The system may be useful for monitoring the infrastructure of oil producing companies (for example, Saudi Aramco), in construction, agriculture, mining industry, for monitoring power lines. The UAVs’ integration into the country’s economy help reduce the time by tens of times, increase the operational reliability of the infrastructure, prevent environmental and financial damage in the event of unauthorized activity or accidents.

Denis Fedutinov — a famous expert in the field of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) — explains that over the years of presence on the civilian market, the capabilities of the Supercam UAS have been recognized by many demanding customers from the oil and gas sector, energy transmission companies, agro-industrial holdings, government agencies responsible for natural resources, etc.
“A significant advantage of the Supercam line of unmanned systems is the comprehensiveness of the proposed solutions, largely ensured by mathematical image processing technologies, which allows for the automatic implementation of various popular tasks, from mapping to the recognition of various objects, which generally increases the efficiency of the unmanned system. The innovativeness of the engineering solutions of the Supercam developers, providing them with high functionality, while simultaneously having good reliability indicators, have been appreciated not only in Russia, but also abroad,” — Fedutinov said.
The analyst also emphasized the similarity of civilian monitoring tasks and those of military visual reconnaissance and surveillance. This allowed the specialists of the Unmanned Systems Group to quickly adapt the developments of the Supercam line for use in military affairs. Supercam S350 UAV is in high demand among the Russian military as part of a special military operation, Fedutinov noted.
Supercam S350 is a light-class maneuverable aircraft-type (flying wing) UAV with a video communication range of over 70 km, secure communication channels and high resistance to electronic warfare systems. It is an optimal tool for aerial monitoring in the visible and infrared spectrum, aerial photography, and laser scanning. The features of the system include the efficiency of UAV assembly, modular composite elements, interchangeable and combined payloads with unified gyrostabilized platforms, a system for detaching wing consoles during landing to prevent possible damage, flight stability, and good controllability. Supercam is equipped with an electric motor and is capable of almost silent flight. The device is launched with the help of a catapult (pneumatic or elastic), and lands with a parachute. It can carry different target loads such as video and thermal cameras that may detect a person from a height of 1,200 m without being noticed. The device is resistant to difficult weather conditions, exposure to high temperatures (up to +45⁰С), does not require a runway or additional infrastructure for operation.
Supercam S350 project is constantly evolving and gaining new capabilities — its characteristics and application tactics are being improved, the company’s official representative explained. The drone has proven its effectiveness in military operations — during the Syrian campaign and in the Special military operation. The representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense emphasize that one of the key features of the Supercam S350 is the high-definition camera as well as its silent electric engine and resistance to electronic warfare. As the UAVs crews report you can examine shelters and machine gun positions in detail, track the movement of enemy personnel and equipment, and provide precise coordinates of targets from a height of one kilometer.
Today Supercam is used by reconnaissance units, infantry, the UAV supports assault groups, transmits target coordinates and adjusts the fire of artillery and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). In cooperation with missile forces and artillery, the drone improves shooting accuracy and improves the principles of warfare. Supercam integrated with the decision support and fire control system allows to significantly increase the effectiveness of combat use. Thanks to the integrated work of the UAV with the artillery and MLRS, the process of “target detection — decision making — strike on target” takes much less time. The Supercam S350 UAV units have already helped detect and destroy such enemy weapons in the Special military operation area as Bradley and M-113 armored personnel carriers, M119 and M777 towed howitzers, HMMWV (Humvee) armored vehicles, Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, HIMARS and Vampire multiple launch rocket systems, CAESAR and Paladin self-propelled artillery units, RT-91 Twardy tanks, Cobra armored vehicles, Buk M1 air defense systems, BMP-2, and other equipment, as well as ammunition depots, temporary deployment points, strongholds, command posts, aerial reconnaissance and UAV control points.
Supercam S350 that is used by the Russian Armed Forces during reconnaissance operations combines new technologies and costs less than Israeli or American-made UAVs.
The Unmanned Systems Group of Companies is a designer and producer of unmanned aircraft systems, optical-electronic systems and software under the Supercam brand.
