Iraq and BAE Systems discuss Defence and Cybersecurity Collaboration

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani commended BAE Systems for its initiative to establish weapons production lines and provide cybersecurity services in partnership with Iraq’s Defense Industries Commission (DIC).

Al-Sudani’s comments came during a meeting with a BAE Systems delegation led by CEO Charles Woodburn, as stated by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

This meeting was part of Al-Sudani’s two-day official visit to the UK, where he also met with King Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. His itinerary includes discussions with senior British officials and representatives from various industries.

The talks highlighted BAE Systems’ expertise in defense sectors, including advanced weapons manufacturing and cybersecurity technologies.

The Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to equipping Iraq’s security forces with state-of-the-art weaponry from diverse sources. He further noted that the DIC’s regulatory framework promotes technological collaboration and facilitates partnerships with specialized international companies.
