Today, Sakhir Air Base is hosting the Bahrain International Airshow 2024. The event is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and under the supervision of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Personal Representative and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Airshow.
The three-day event will showcase over 125 types of aircraft, providing visitors the opportunity to view the aircraft up close and enjoy air shows that demonstrate the latest innovations and technologies in the aviation sector. It is anticipated that deals, agreements, and memorandums of understanding will be signed among the participating companies.
In its seventh edition, the airshow is witnessing the participation of 56 countries and 223 civil and military delegations, in addition to 20 government agencies supporting the event as part of Team Bahrain. The airshow also provides 40 equipped chalets and a VIP chalet.
Military teams participating in the airshow began arriving in succession last Friday and have been conducting air shows prior to the official launch of the event.
The airshow is expected to witness important discussions, most notably on sustainability in aviation, advanced technological innovations, investment in infrastructure, space operations, and gender equality in the aviation sector.
Yusuf Mahmoud, the Director-General of the Airshow and a member of the Higher Organizing Committee, had previously confirmed in media statements that the number of military and civil aircraft participating in the airshow reaches 129, and he had emphasized the completion of all preparations for the launch of the event.
