Egypt Explores Collaboration with China’s Aviation Industry for Advanced Training Aircraft

The Arab Organization for Industrialization held significant negotiations with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) and the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC).

The meeting was attended by Major General Engineer Mokhtar Abdel-Latif, President of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and a high-level Chinese delegation led by Mr. Zhou Qian, Chief Engineer of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), and Mr. Liu Yu, President of the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC).

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation, especially regarding joint collaboration in the manufacturing, maintenance, and upgrading of K8E aircraft.

The “K8E” aircraft represents a technological achievement in the aviation industry, combining advanced training capabilities with armament possibilities.

These diverse capabilities enhance the aircraft’s versatility and enable the Egyptian Air Force to meet its needs and strengthen its military capabilities to face various challenges.

Potential Purchase of Chinese “L-15” Aircraft by Egypt According to sources, future relations in the aviation industry were discussed, and the talks covered the potential acquisition of L-15 training aircraft by Egypt, similar to what the United Arab Emirates has done.

Developed by the Hongdu Aviation Industry Group under AVIC in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, the aircraft features two engines with an aerodynamic design and integrated avionics. The “L-15” aircraft boasts a maximum speed of 1000 km/h, a maximum altitude of 13,500 meters, and a basic range of 1700 km. The maximum takeoff weight is 10.7 tons, and it can stay airborne for approximately two and a half hours, or up to 4 hours with additional fuel tanks.

Additionally, the aircraft can cover a distance of up to 2800 km with a low payload and is designed for in-flight refueling.

The “L-15” aircraft features dynamic design and two turbofan engines, providing it with high operational efficiency as a combat fighter.

Furthermore, it is equipped with advanced targeting systems and a digital cockpit that allows the pilot to monitor the operational situation constantly.

According to “Israel Defense,” Egypt will build an armed model of the FA-50. South Korean media also reported Egypt’s interest in producing 100 training aircraft due to compatibility with its Egyptian “F-16” fighter jets.
