UAE and Malaysia sign MoU to enhance AI collaboration

The United Arab Emirates and Malaysia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster joint investment in artificial intelligence (AI), marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties. The signing ceremony, which took place in Abu Dhabi, was witnessed by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, in the presence of H.H. This collaboration aligns with Malaysia’s “Madani Artificial Intelligence” (MMAI) initiative and aims to leverage AI and advanced data analytics to enhance public safety, national security, and operational efficiencies.

Under the MoU, the UAE and Malaysia will strengthen technical cooperation in several key areas, including:

Developing AI-driven national security systems.

Establishing high-performance computing data centers and national security operations centers.

Enhancing customs tax collection mechanisms.

Improving operational efficiencies across various sectors.

Bilateral Cooperation in AI and Technology
The MoU was officially signed by Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, UAE Minister of Investment, and Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Malaysia’s Minister of Home Affairs.
