EL ALAMEIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Egypt – U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-15E Strike Eagle, and A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft assigned to U.S. Air Forces Central are in place at Egypt’s El Alamein International Airport to support the first Egypt International Airshow, Sept. 3-5, 2024.

The event is Egypt’s inaugural international airshow and will showcase the latest technology and innovation in the aerospace and defense industry.

“Congratulations to our Egyptian partners for this significant achievement,” said U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Derek France, AFCENT commander. “Preparing to host an event like this takes months of planning from a dedicated team, and we’re honored to be here for the historic first iteration.”

“This event is an excellent example of the strong strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, which encompasses fields as diverse as education, business, and security,” added U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Herro Mustafa Garg. “Our defense partnership, which has been growing stronger for more than forty years, is a pillar for regional stability.”

AFCENT regularly supports airshows to highlight advanced coalition capabilities while demonstrating the U.S.’ commitment to supporting regional security alongside its allies and partners.

“It’s not often the coalition has the chance to come together and evaluate and compare aircraft and capabilities in a non-operational environment,” said France. “The next few days will serve as a vital platform for fostering lasting international collaboration that will strengthen our collective ability to further regional stability.”
