Thales has signed a secure IT outsourcing contract with Ramsay Générale de Santé, the largest private hospital group in France, in the first phase of a global project to upgrade the organisation’s entire information system. The project is part of the transformation of the information systems of major companies and essential operators.
The five-year contract includes a full range of IT hosting, security, operation and administration services.
Based on a new technology platform tailored to the specific requirements of this major player in the French healthcare sector, the project will initially cover all central functions, including financial services, collaborative applications and key specialities.
In view of the mission-critical nature of the Ramsay Générale de Santé information system, Thales is offering a particularly high level of service. The terms and conditions of this Service Level Agreement are particularly stringent both on a technical level and in terms of regulatory compliance. For example, the contract stipulates that Thales must be officially certified as a health data hosting organisation by France’s healthcare information systems agency (ASIP1).
To ensure compliance with ASIP requirements, the IT outsourcing contract with Ramsay Générale de Santé stipulates that digital data must be secured at all times and that specific change management and incident management processes must be in place.
“Thales is proud to be working with Ramsay Générale de Santé, France’s leading private hospital group. This new contract is a further endorsement of our role as a strategic partner in the secure digital transformation of government agencies, essential operators and major companies,” said Laurent Maury, Vice President, Critical Information Systems and Cybersecurity, Thales.
“This project marks the beginning of the operational phase of our vision for the group’s information systems. Thales is helping us transform our IT from a resource-based approach with direct costs of ownership to a system based on Service Level Agreements with each work unit provided for a fixed fee over the duration of the contract” said Christian Pilaud, CIO of Ramsay Générale de Santé.
