A long-lasting presence in the Middle-East and the willingness to increase cooperation

As two of the most important world exhibitions, IDEX and NAVDEX represent a great opportunity for our experts to meet our partners and key authorities in the region. Naval Group has a long going history of cooperation and has built long-term and trustful relationships for over 30 years with the area’s navies. Over the years, our focus has shifted from being just a supplier to becoming a strategic partner in developing sustainable and sovereign defence ecosystems. The confidence of the UAE in Naval Group’s expertise, as highlighted by the recent Gowind corvette program (two corvettes delivered in 2023 and 2024), or the development of the cooperation with the local industry in KSA trough the current “support contract” for the SAWARI Royal Saudi Naval Forces, honor us and underline our growing footprint in the region.

With the UAE Navy, Naval Group is willing to strengthen its cooperation and defence ecosystem in order to enhance the country’s sovereignty at sea and contribute to the protection of its strategic interests by delivering the best technologies, driven by innovation and R&D investments. We are keen to offer the latest technologies to ensure self-reliance of the UAE Navy.

A comprehensive offer for modern fleets

Naval Group meets its customers’ needs with the ability to deliver complete warships, with their combat systems and all the critical equipment necessary to engage naval power in a theatre of operations. Building on its 400 years long experience in supporting the French Navy, Naval Group is the partner of choice for 50 international navies, for whom we are a trusted partner. Our booth at IDEX-NAVEX will reflect our comprehensive offer with a focus on surface ships and drones, as well as our range of services covering the entire life cycle of a ship. These include:

  • FDI frigate

The FDI frigate is a powerful, innovative and cyber-secure frigate, designed for navies looking for a compact frigate able to perform the largest range of missions stand-alone or within a task force, either for high sea long-lasting missions as for shallow water operation, in congested and contested operational environment. As the heir of the French FREMM, the FDI has high-level capabilities in anti-air, anti-surface, anti-submarine and asymmetric warfare, considering the French Navy’s operational heritage acquired in operations. The FDI offers a modular design and can be adapted to meet specific needs of the navies. The French Navy and the Hellenic Navy have both selected these frigates, with first deliveries planned in 2025.

  • Solutions against asymmetric threats

The Multipurpose and modular launching system (MPLS) is an innovative product, that copes with any type of asymmetric threats, with a stealth design and a high loading capability. Easy to reload and to maintain, the MPLS can mix different types of ammunition (such as decoys, rockets, missiles or loitering munitions) thanks to its module technology.

  • Drones

For more than 15 years, Naval Group has impulse a strong push towards unmanned platforms and technologies. The drones and autonomous systems business is a strategic pillar of Naval Group, with a strong positioning across the entire value chain: drone projection ships, drones and autonomous systems, force integration, in-service support.

  • Services:

Today, threats and technologies are evolving quickly. To maintain their operational superiority and efficiency, warships must be regularly upgraded. It’s a challenge to make it possible in short time and limited resources. Naval Group proposes customized and scalable solutions that can be integrated into the existing environment, to modernize surface combatant, submarines and logistic vessels, in order to face the new challenges, whether design or not by Naval Group. Thanks to rare and trained skills, Naval Group has the ability to develop and deliver customized solutions of extension and upgrade of all kind of naval platforms and systems over their entire life cycle. It relies also on a wide range of solutions and specific added value to enhance the operational potential of the fleet.
