Leonardo Appoints Mukamalah Aviation Company as Authorised Service Centre in Saudi Arabia

With the helicopter fleet in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia growing to deliver multiple services to the local economy and communities, resulting in a stronger need to provide greater levels of technical support, Leonardo further reinforced its partnership with Mukamalah Aviation Company (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Saudi Aramco) appointing it as an Authorised Service Centre in the Kindgom.

The two partners celebrated this latest achievement during an official ceremony at the Farnborough International Airshow Wednesday.

Mukamalah Aviation Company will soon deliver a range of maintenance and repair services for its AW139 and AW109 Power helicopters and for third-party aircraft of the same type from its bases in Tanajib, Ras Tanura, and Dammam.

One of the largest operators of Leonardo helicopters in the Middle East; Mukamalah Aviation Company has been operating AW139s since 2008 and AW109 light twins since 2006, mainly to perform offshore transport missions in Saudi Arabia to support the oil and gas industry. Today’s Mukamalah Leonardo helicopter fleet consists of 27 units.

Mukamalah Aviation Company Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, is the first aviation company in Saudi Arabia and second in the Middle East. Mukamalah Aviation Company Limited (Mukamalah) was established in 1934 under the name of Saudi Aramco Aviation with the core mission of serving the oil and gas industry.

From its headquarters in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Mukamalah is a fully integrated aviation service provider which operates a fleet of 60 aircrafts of different types with the goal of supporting corporate and governmental entities. Enabling its operation, Mukamalah maintains its fleet in its 15,000 sqm hangars in Dammam, Ras Tanura, and Tanajib. In addition to its extensive fleet, Mukamalah regularly serves 18 airports throughout Saudi Arabia, thirteen of which are fully managed, and operated by Mukamalah.
