The United Arab Emirates recently welcomed its first Boeing-built AH-64E Apache attack helicopter, along with spare parts, training services and maintenance support.
The milestone reinforces Boeing’s partnership with the UAE, which has operated the Apache, starting with the A-model, since the 1990s.
Catch up quick:
In 2018 and 2019, Boeing received a contract from the U.S. Department of Defense as part of the Foreign Military Sales program to produce E-model Apaches for the UAE customer.
The bottom line:
“The UAE have been operating the AH-64 for several decades now, and this delivery of the E-model Apache is another step forward in our long-standing partnership with the customer,” said Christina Upah, vice president of Attack Helicopter Programs, and the Boeing Mesa, Arizona, senior site executive. “The AH-64E Apache will provide UAE with the best-in-class capabilities, and we are honored to now deliver their first E-model Apache.”
