Defence and security company Saab has extended its support and maintenance agreement with Field Aviation for the aircraft of the Swedish Coast Guard. The contract runs for five years with an additional two year option. The order value is SEK160 million for the first five years.

The support agreement is a turnkey solution, in which Saab provides technical monitoring, the supply of spares and maintenance services for aircraft, engines, radar and other special equipment for the Swedish Coast Guard.

“The Coast Guard’s aircraft must be available round the clock, all year round. The extended agreement is a positive confirmation that we possess a unique ability to deliver a complete support solution to an operator with stringent demands for functionality and availability,” says Jonas Hjelm, head of Saab business area Support and Services.

The maintenance activities will chiefly be provided at the Coast Guard’s main base in Nyköping. Saab has supported the Swedish Coast Guard with a 24/7 service since 2006; on site in Sweden and on deployments around the world, such as Operation Atalanta.
