Defence and security company Saab and the Swedish Defence University have signed on the 9th of September a collaborative agreement to jointly strengthen education, research and innovation in areas such as security, protection, preparedness, leadership and management.
The agreement between Saab and the Swedish Defence University will increase the expertise in both organisations. The Swedish Defence University has high competence in systems analysis and contributes to a social science perspective on defence policy issues. Saab contributes its know-how in the industrial application of research and innovation and its internationally recognised skill and experience in system integration.
“The cooperation between Saab and the Swedish Defence University deepens our expertise in research and innovation linked to the need for security and defence of our cutomers around the world. Innovative companies that want to grow need frequent collaboration with universities and research institutions,” says Håkan Buskhe, Saab CEO.
The partnership will cover a wide spectrum, including military technology, crisis management, security, social protection and emergency preparedness, business intelligence, international and national cooperation. Future innovation in various fields is also of interest to both parties.
“I am delighted that Saab and the Swedish Defence University have signed this historic agreement. We hope we will have a major exchange in several areas where we both can contribute to each other’s future development,” says Romulo Enmark, Rector of the Swedish Defence University.
