The Tawazun Council for Defense Empowerment “Tawazun” announced the total deals concluded on behalf of the Ministry of Defense during the third and final day of the Unmanned Systems (UMEX) and Simulation and Training (SIMTEX) 2026 exhibitions, numbering three deals with a total value of 1 billion, 256 million, and 247 thousand dirhams.
This brings the total number of deals concluded for the Ministry of Defense over the three days of the exhibition to 11 deals, with a total value reaching 3 billion, 615 million, and 858 thousand dirhams, achieving a notable growth of 20% compared to the previous edition of UMEX 2024. This reflects the continuous development in the volume and quality of deals and confirms the increasing confidence in the defense industry ecosystem in the United Arab Emirates.
The Council emphasized that the deals announced during the exhibition reflect the vital role of the Planning and Procurement Directorate, which is responsible for the strategic planning of defense needs and managing the procurement system with efficiency and transparency, while engaging local and international suppliers from the early stages to ensure achieving the best results.
The deals were announced by the official spokespeople for the Tawazun Council for Defense Empowerment, Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi and Mana Abdul Karim Al Mansouri, within the framework of the Council’s keenness to present the results of the deals in a comprehensive manner that reflects the scale of the concluded partnerships.
The deals announced on the final day included two deals for EDGE Group: the first for the development of jet-powered drones worth 385.717 million dirhams, and the second for the purchase of the Tracked RCV & THeMIS system worth 525.205 million dirhams.
The deals also included another agreement with Caracal International, a subsidiary of EDGE Group, worth 345.325 million UAE dirhams, for the purchase of remote weapons.
The official spokespeople confirmed that the deals concluded during the exhibition days reflect the strategic directions of the United Arab Emirates in enhancing the advanced and sustainable defense system and consolidating its position as a regional and global hub for defense industries and future technologies, noting the Council’s continued development of strategic partnerships that contribute to achieving national security and defense goals.
